We are looking for an experienced systems software engineer to join our team to help design and develop real-time interfaces for real-time Hardware-In-the-Loop simulation applications. At Applied, you will

  • Design, implement, and extend interfaces between Autonomous Vehicle modules and the Applied simulator based on customer requirements.
  • Architect next-generation HIL solutions for simulating complete digital twins for ADAS and Autonomous Vehicles development.
  • Help integrate, test and deploy HIL solutions at customer locations.
  • Verify and validate simulation results and improve realism and real-time performance.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has 2+ years experience developing applications for Real-time Operating Systems such as RT-Linux, QNX.
  • Has 2+ years of experience in shipping production software.
  • Has experience bridging the gap between hardware and application software, including the ability to work with real-time operating system internals, inter-process communication, time-synchronization, low-latency communication and messaging protocols.
  • Has expertise with real-time performance optimization.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with HIL systems from NI, dSPACE, Concurrent-RT, or Opal-RT.
  • Prior experience designing and deploying HIL solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with related industry tools and standards: AUTOSAR, restbus simulation, CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and BroadR-Reach.
  • Prior experience using Xilinx / Altera FPGA tools especially w.r.t. dSPACE / LabView / Simulink tools for real-time HIL applications.
  • Working knowledge of ADAS and AV development.
  • Working knowledge of common robotics middlewares such as ROS, DDS.
