The Institute of Biostatistics and Registry Research at the Brandenburg Medical School is looking for several

Statisticians, Data Scientists, Information Specialists or Statistical Programmers

for various tasks in data analysis and methods development. Appointments are initially for three years.

The Brandenburg Medical School Theodor Fontane (MHB) is a state-recognized non-profit university under municipal sponsorship. The Institute of Biostatistics and Registry Research in Neuruppin under the direction of Prof. Dr. Michael Hauptmann plays an important role in clinical and epidemiological research and also develops new statistical methods.

We are looking for candidates with applied statistical and/or mathematical training and the ambition to contribute to the improvement of health through performing state-of-the-art statistical analyses of medical data and to further develop those methods. The context of the work is in national and international clinical research (e.g., breast cancer), epidemiology (e.g., radiation research), health services research (e.g. health geography), and applied statistics (e.g., risk prediction). Tasks include data management and analysis, presentation of results, assisting in writing grant proposals and publications, and participation in meetings. Preferences in focus can be considered. In addition, there is the opportunity to participate in teaching, and for doctoral or post-doctoral research.

The position requires:

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in (bio)statistics, data science, data analytics, health sciences or related fields

– Experience with statistical data analysis

– Knowledge of applied mathematical statistics

– Advanced proficiency in English language, both written and spoken

– Reliability, initiative, creativity, independence, ability to work in a team
