Data Scientist (all genders)

As a Data Scientist (all genders) within the Machine Learning team , you will serve our clients by maintaining and improving our payment fraud detection and credit scoring models, which are at the core of Fraugster's business. You will lead hands-on research projects to improve our scoring algorithms and partner with stakeholders in analytics, product development and engineering to make sure these improvements will be applied in production. In addition, you will train and monitor models for our clients and investigate issues with models deployed in production.

The ideal candidate should be able to conduct ML research projects independently while closely communicating with stakeholders. Besides a strong knowledge of ML algorithms, you will need to have (or to develop) a deep understanding of the payments industry in order to identify and successfully conduct projects that are valuable to the business.

How will you contribute to our mission?

• • Research and develop new or improved ML-based solutions to identify and prevent payment fraud in real-time: understand the business problem, translate it into a data science research problem, build an experiment and analyze the results.

• • Contribute your own ideas to improve our fraud prevention system.
  • Lead projects in collaboration with engineers and relevant stakeholders to bring your research into production.

• • Train, test and monitor production ML models.

To be successful at this position, we think you should have/be:

• • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or another quantitative field.

• • 2+ years of work experience in machine learning, data science, data analysis.

• • Very good understanding of and experience with classical machine learning; experience with deep learning is a plus.

• • Good programming skills in SQL and Python, experience using machine learning libraries.

• • Ability to conduct research projects independently.
  • Quick and independent learner: ability to extract relevant knowledge from scientific publications, blog posts, etc.

• • Strong communication skills and fluent in English (business level)
