Join us in making a difference

As a Data Engineer in the Data Intelligence unit, you'll collaborate closely with your team of data engineers, data scientists, analysts, working on petabytes of data to enable reporting, bidding, and experimentation of data pipelines. Your expertise will contribute to the overall success of our travel technology. If you are passionate about SQL and have a solid engineering background with interest in DataOps and business impact, we’d love to hear from you!

How you'll make an impact:

  • Build and own our core data tables to enable high impact data-driven decision making
  • Design and implement efficient data pipelines
  • Research and develop data quality check approach & tools
  • Collaborate with our core data teams to establish good design patterns and architecture guidelines focused towards building reusable and robust solutions
  • Understand the needs of data analysts and scientists to ensure usability of core tables while considering the changeability of data input
  • Experiment with new technologies while keeping business priorities in mind               

What you'll need to thive:

  • 4+ years working experience in writing clean maintainable code with a software engineering mindset 
  • Excellent SQL skills with a highly-analytical mind, you are able to read, understand and improve other people's code
  • Solid experience with several programming languages in a data-related context e.g. Python or Java
  • Exposure to data workflow management systems e.g. Apache Oozie, Airflow
  • Experience with cloud technology e.g. GCP, BigQuery
  • Product mindset to understand business needs and develop scalable engineering solutions
  • Drive to learn and apply new technologies and techniques
  • Good communication skills and confidence in presenting ideas and findings to stakeholders
  • Fluency in English (our company language)

Stand out with:

  • Hands-on experience with distributed systems (Hadoop, Spark)
  • Exposure to streaming data technologies like Kafka
  • Familiar with BI and monitoring tools (Looker, Grafana etc)
