Job Description

As the Director of Data & Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data-driven future. Your expertise will guide our data strategy, ensuring it aligns with our overarching company goals and enhances our decision-making processes. You will be a champion of data literacy across the organization, fostering a culture where data-driven insights are at the forefront of our business strategy.

What You'll Do:

  • Data strategy development:
  • Devise and implement a comprehensive data strategy.
  • Ensure alignment of data strategies across teams with overall company objectives, including the implementation of real-time data solutions for intra-day decision making.
Promoting Data Literacy:
  • Identify data literacy gaps within the company.
  • Organize and oversee training programs to enhance data-driven decision-making skills.
Data Team Enablement:
  • Ensure data teams have access to and knowledge of the right tools and best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative environment for continuous learning and improvement.
Data reliability and quality:
  • Guarantee data accuracy from both a technical and semantic perspective.
  • Establish standards for precision, SLAs, observability, and data testing.
End-to-End Data Management:
  • Maintain an overarching view of the data pipeline.
  • Ensure clear responsibility and accountability across teams, with well-defined deliverables.
Collaboration with Tech and Non-Tech Teams:
  • Work closely with tech product teams to integrate data considerations from the outlet.
  • Align with non-tech business teams to balance short-term wins with long-term progress and customer experience enhancements.
Senior leadership engagement:
  • Be the primary point of contact (POC) for all data-related matters.
  • Provide relevant data insights to senior leadership and the broader company.
Leadership and team development:
  • Lead and mentor data thought leaders and people leaders within the central data team.
  • Ensure alignment and information flow between all data-related teams.
Data privacy and security:
  • Collaborate with Legal & Compliance (L&C), IT, and data platform teams to maintain a consistent approach to data privacy and security.
Resource management:
  • Oversee the budgeting and cost management for data tools and team resources.
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Data governance:
  • Establish guidelines for data ownership, responsibility, and KPI definitions.
  • Role Definitions and Career Development:
  • Define roles and expectations across data teams.
  • Develop clear career paths to promote growth and transparency.
