Job Description

The Oncology Focus Stuttgart e. V. (OSP) is an association of Stuttgart hospitals and
the Stuttgart medical profession for the joint optimization of the treatment of cancer patients and operates one of the
largest facility-based clinical cancer registries in Germany. This data is to be methodically and
systematically prepared for health services research.
The Institute for Health Services Research at the OSP Stuttgart eV is therefore looking for a
biometrician / medical data scientist / statistician (m/f/d) part-time (40 - 60%)
as soon as possible. The position is permanent

Your tasks include:
  • Scientific preparation, analysis and evaluation of tumor registry data collected over 30 years
(Onkostar) with extended data set and quality of life data
  • Planning and implementation of analyses and projects on the care situation of people with cancer in
the Stuttgart region together with the service providers and clinics
  • Collaboration on publications and on funding and project applications in the context of health services research
  • Support and advice in statistical data analysis for scientific papers and theses
  • Independent evaluation and reporting from the register in compliance with applicable guidelines
  • Scientific exchange with university institutions

Your profile:

  • Completed studies in statistics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, epidemiology, public health,
Mathematics or a comparable qualification
  • Very good statistical knowledge, ideally with experience in health services research, experience with
Statistical programs (e.g. R, SPSS or SAS), ideally good programming skills in R
  • Experience in preparing and analyzing data (health data/registry data) with the aim of
scientific evaluation
  • Ideally experience with common data engineering, data modelling, data mining and
especially machine learning or interest in learning about it
  • High degree of independence, personal responsibility and commitment
