Tasks

• As Lead Data Scientist, you are responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive vision and strategy for enercity's AI initiatives. You work with key roles and stakeholders to ensure the integration of the AI ​​strategy across the entire product portfolio. To effectively advance the company's strategic goals, you define short- and long-term goals.
• You build a high-performance team of data scientists, take over their technical management and further development. You create a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and creativity. So that your team can deliver top performance and find innovative solutions, you ensure that the necessary resources and support are provided.
• You identify and implement potential for the use of machine learning and generative AI. AI is used to improve our customers' experience and to personalize energy services. You take the lead in the conception, development and implementation of data-driven solutions to optimize forecasts, demand predictions and resource allocation.
• You ensure that the team is always informed about the latest developments in data science and AI. You use cutting-edge tools and technologies to create value. Overall, you promote a company-wide culture of data-protected decision-making and continuous improvement.
• You represent enercity's AI initiatives at industry conferences and in cooperation projects with universities and research institutions. You build and maintain strategic partnerships with leading technology providers and AI experts. You also work with external stakeholders to leverage best-in-class digital and AI solutions.

Requirements

• You have completed a master's degree or a doctorate in data science, computer science, statistics or a related field.
• As a data scientist or in a comparable role, you already have several years of professional experience, including at least two years in a management position. You can demonstrate proven success in the development and implementation of value-added data science and machine learning projects.
• You have in-depth knowledge of Python, R or Julia and are confident in SQL. You have a basic understanding of cloud computing platforms, big data technologies and MLOps practices. You have experience with generative AI technology and its practical application in a business context.
• You have an excellent command of “storytelling with data” and can therefore present complex analyses in an understandable and convincing manner. You have a passion for sustainable energy solutions and digital transformation in the utility sector.
• You understand lifelong learning and self-reflection as integral parts of your leadership role. With your inspiring personality, you are able to harmonize the needs of different stakeholders.
• As a real team player, you work responsibly, reliably and independently. You have very good, active communication skills in a dynamic work environment and ideally can also express yourself well in English.
