We are looking for you for EDEKA IT Stiftung & Co. OHG at our location in Hamburg as soon as possible as a Senior Data Engineer (m/f/d).

Your tasks

  • You develop and optimize the Kasse-Waage archive and other data products in our Azure / Databricks data platform:
    You are responsible for the development and maintenance of data products, architectures and pipelines.
  • You will be responsible for setting up and maintaining data integration processes to ensure that data from different sources is consistent and accessible.
  • You work closely with the development team and the product owner to ensure that technical requirements are met and product goals are achieved.
  • You monitor and maintain data governance standards so that data processing processes comply with established governance and security standards.
  • Your job profile is rounded off by continuous evaluation and optimization of the data infrastructure based on user feedback and your own data analyses in order to increase the efficiency and quality of the data processes.

Your profile

  • Solid practical experience in developing and optimizing data architectures and pipelines.
  • Understanding of (cloud) databases, ETL processes and modern cloud data processing technologies. Experience in Microsoft Azure data processing products. Ideally experience in using Databricks.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills: Ability to analyze complex technical challenges and break them down into clear, actionable steps.
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders at different levels to clarify requirements and present solutions.
  • Experience with agile methods and frameworks (e.g. Scrum) and their application in a technical environment.
  • High level of competence in solving technical problems and the ability to make informed decisions based on data and analysis.
  • A degree in computer science, data science or a similar field is an advantage, although practical experience and skills in data engineering are also highly valued.
