Job Summary

Teaching Assistants (TAs) play a critical role in teaching ~25-30 learners (as part of a larger class) in Correlation One's virtual Information Security training program. TAs will be expected to support synchronous sessions as well as provide asynchronous support to Fellows to ensure their comprehension and learning.

Program Specific Information:

We are hiring Teaching Assistants for two upcoming programs. Teaching Assistants attend all live lectures, provide office hours, and support with asynchronous tasks such as grading, answering questions on Slack, etc. The dates and times for upcoming cohorts are as follows:

Launch: September 19, 2024

End of year break (no lectures): November 30, 2024 - January 8, 2025

Program Finale: April 18, 2025

Lectures: Thursday from 11:00am - 1:30pm ET and Fridays from 11:00am - 2:00pm ET

    • Friday sessions are 30 minutes longer to allow for review of asynchronous lab at the end of lecture

Key Responsibilities

  • TAs are required to participate in all live lectures, providing helpful and fast responses via Slack, as well as being prepared to host breakout rooms as needed.
  • Provide 6 hours of individual office hour sessions for Fellows each week. You may set these hours within our parameters at your availability and convenience.
  • Work with fellow TAs and Lead Instructors on ways to improve the learner experience
  • Host review sessions or other support mechanisms to ensure the progress and satisfaction of your Fellows.
  • Grade your Fellows' submissions, providing feedback and ongoing learning support.

Who you are

  • As a Cybersecurity Teaching Assistant, you are a passionate advocate for cybersecurity education, possessing a strong foundation in information security principles and practices. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, you thrive in supporting instructors and students alike in understanding complex security concepts. Your adeptness in navigating security tools and technologies enables you to provide valuable guidance and assistance, fostering a secure learning environment. Your dedication to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest cybersecurity trends positions you as a valuable asset in preparing students for success in the dynamic field of information security.

Your expertise

  • 1 year of experience in the Information Security field (or another related field) with a degree or strong credentials
  • Degree in a technical field
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or another related certification
  • Previous learner support experience, preferably in a remote environment

Where you are

  • This role is remote and the ideal candidate will be located in Europe or the United Kingdom.

Compensation

The compensation range for this position is specific to location and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. These factors include (but are not limited to) location, experience, education and skill sets. A reasonable estimate of the current rate for this position is $28-32/hr. Please note that the shared rate is specific to the United Kingdom and Europe.
