AI Assessment Engineer (m/w/d)

The Innovation Center (IZ) observes trends in technology and society and serves as an incubator and accelerator for the explorative development of modern business models for the entire IABG Group. The Innovation Center sees itself as the spearhead for industrializing the latest research and putting it to beneficial use for customers. We experiment not only with technologies and methods but also with organizational forms and business models. We are guided by the question of how an increasingly globalized and urban society can be developed in a secure and sustainable manner, whose organizations and systems are already networked at Internet speed.
Within the safeAI program, the IABG Innovation Center aims to connect state-of-the-art artificial intelligence algorithms with existing and future AI assessment principles. Due to the high dynamic of this topic, new AI-frameworks, software packages, related updates, and further AI tools are regularly published and need to be reviewed, evaluated, and partially utilized. Finally, very relevant for the exploitation of future IABG assessment services related to AI are the activities of standardization committees regarding AI (e.g., ISO/IEC, CEN/CENELEC, DIN/DKE, or EUROCAE).
Your responsibility as an IABG AI Assessment Engineer is to contribute to these AI assessment activities and to participate in the developments of the future IABG portfolio. You will work in an open and modern work environment with various ambitious tasks regarding future key technologies. You will be part of a highly motivated team with both a collaborative but also self-responsible attitude. Finally, you will also have the chance to actively shape the future of your IABG Innovation Center department.

• Development of assessment processes for machine learning models
• Development of strategies to incorporate uncertainty quantification and Bayesian concepts in AI
• Evaluation of techniques to increase robustness of AI outputs which involves for e.g., data fusion, uncertainty quantification etc.
• Simulation and testing of AI methodologies in virtual environments, e.g., AirSim and Unreal Engine
• Connect the IABG developments regarding AI assessment to ongoing national and international standardization activities
• Support of the safeAI program management, e.g., by leading safeAI-related projects

• Motivation to connect software engineering, statistics, and assessment engineering
• Background and graduation in computer science, mathematics, aeronautical engineering, or related engineering disciplines
• Proven experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning models
• Strong programming skills, e.g., Python, MATLAB, Simulink, C++
• Experience with agile working frameworks and international teams
• Excellent communication skills in English
