Job Description

CLAAS develops, tests and manufactures self-propelled harvesting machines, combine harvesters, forage harvesters and system tractors on 400,000 m² at its main plant in Harsewinkel. With more than 2,000 colleagues, we are the largest company in the CLAAS Group and take on cross-company and cross-border tasks in production, research and development as well as in numerous commercial areas.

Your tasks:

  • Familiarization with the quality assessment of harvesting processes and crop samples in the field of combine harvesters and forage harvesters
  • Use of various AI methods for processing imaging sensors
  • Development of an analysis program for evaluating images
  • Automatic classification of process variables and detection of crop samples
  • Validation of analysis programs based on test bench and/or harvest trials
  • Concept development and classification of project results in the scientific context
  • Documentation of findings and presentations

Your profile:

  • Ongoing studies at a college or university in computer science or a comparable course of study
  • Solid knowledge of a programming language (Python, C++, MATLAB)
  • Knowledge of image processing and computer graphics
  • Knowledge in the field of AI, machine learning and image processing (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Scikit-Learn, OpenCV, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of physics
  • Good comprehension, creativity and willingness to communicate
  • Structured and systematic working methods with a scientific standard
  • Interest in agricultural tasks
  • High level of independence, commitment and ability to work in a team
  • Interest in solving complex problems
  • Duration of deployment: usually 6 months
