About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated (Senior) Data Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on leveraging open-source technologies to build and maintain scalable, data-driven applications. If you excel in working with R, Python, and related tools, this position offers you the opportunity to contribute to exciting projects in a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain data solutions using R, including Shiny applications and Shiny Server configurations.
• Manage server environments to ensure optimal performance and reliability for hosted applications.
• Use Python for scripting, data integration, and ETL processes.
• Monitor and improve system performance while ensuring data integrity and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Shiny Server, Docker, and other application environments.
• Stay up to date with advancements in open-source data engineering tools and methodologies.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Expertise in R, with a focus on developing and maintaining Shiny applications.
• Hands-on experience with Shiny Server, including deployment, configuration, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development.
• Solid experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
• Familiarity with reverse proxies and server environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken). Proficiency in German is a plus.
