Then come on board as a data scientist (m/f/d) in our cross-functional team and help us make everyday life easier for over 300,000 self-employed people.
Of course, we not only work in our office in Freiburg im Breisgau, but also flexibly from home.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

  • In an interdisciplinary team with roles in software development, user experience & data science, you will continuously drive the automation of accounting in a cloud-based web application.
  • To develop the solution, we work in short build-measure-learn cycles: We validate and iterate planned models and prototypes directly with and at customers' sites in order to develop a solution that really inspires them.
  • We are always on the lookout for the latest helpful automation technologies, such as machine learning / NLP, to help us robustly identify additional patterns from our large financial and accounting data.
  • Together as a team, we decide which tools we will use and which topics we will implement and how. We are in constant dialogue and are always open to new approaches and experiments.
  • If you are stuck on tricky questions, you can also find colleagues in our Lexware Office Data Science Community with whom you can exchange ideas and who will give you advice and feedback.

WHAT YOU BRING WITH YOU:

  • A successfully completed university degree in mathematics, computer science or a comparable field.
  • With at least two years of professional experience as a data scientist, you bring with you in-depth knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning and data visualization.
  • You are confident in using database technologies (SQL), are at home in Python and know common data science libraries (e.g. Pandas, Scikit-learn). You have initial experience in running machine learning models in production and use automation tools.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) is also a plus.
  • You are confident and structured when communicating complex issues. You enjoy approaching colleagues, communicate in a targeted manner and can vary between technical depth and abstract understanding.
  • You see cross-team exchange with different roles (e.g. other teams, support or the data community) as a valuable contribution to achieving common goals.
  • Our team language is German, so very good German skills (at least C2) are a must.

    • Camilo is looking for new ways to automate our clients' accounting by analyzing data and optimizing machine learning models. In his free time, he enjoys reading and playing the guitar.
    • Andreas likes to put himself through our customers' eyes and uses his energy to ensure that the automation of accounting is tangible and measurable for customers. In his private life, he finds balance in trying out new delicacies in the kitchen.
    • Manfred attaches great importance to providing customers with new features in conjunction with the frontend, backend and system architecture. In his free time, he loves playing volleyball and board games.
    • As a Scrum Master, Sebastian supports the team, the individual members and the entire organization to ensure ever better collaboration. In his free time, he can usually be found doing sports, and he is enthusiastic about almost every sport, from cycling to table tennis.
