Context:

The position is located in the "Data Analytics and Engineering" team, which is responsible for providing data science, data analytics and data management across the entire company. The goal is to enable all relevant stakeholders to make data-based decisions through actionable insights.

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for the conception and implementation of the data architecture in cosnova's data platform, ensures data quality through low-maintenance data governance measures and ensures data availability by selecting suitable data models and technologies. In addition, the role coordinates the integration of new data sources into the platform and automates data processing pipelines. The job holder identifies and evaluates new relevant technologies or methods to optimize the AI ​​platform.

• Technical and conceptual responsibility for the cosnova data platform – from development to deployment and maintenance
  • Development, automation and optimization of data processing pipelines and data storage for data integration and data-driven solutions (streaming and batch data)
  • Interface with internal data suppliers and technical teams to establish an efficient data platform as a single source of truth for the company
  • Collaboration with external service providers to build the data backbone of the AI ​​platform
• Creating valuable data products to meet business needs
  • Supporting business analysts, data analysts and data scientists in delivering algorithmic data products
• Ensuring the scalability of the data platform with a focus on data availability and quality
• implementation of data governance measures
• Evolving data strategy and technology stacks to respond to business needs and market changes

• University degree in computer science or a related quantitative field
• At least 5 years of professional experience as a data engineer or in a comparable position
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining a scalable, cloud-based data processing and delivery stack
• Solid knowledge of databases and data modeling techniques, especially Data Vault 2.0
• Experience with data architectures such as Modern Data Warehouse, Data Mesh, Data Fabric, etc.
• Routine in building container-based environments in a CI/CD framework
• Very good programming skills in Python and SQL
• Fluent English skills, knowledge of German is an advantage
