The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has been responsible for the organisation and marketing of German professional football since 2000. With the Bundesliga, we own one of the most valuable brands in Germany and one of the world's most important football leagues with an ever increasing community. Our sphere of operation involves meeting broad and exciting challenges – and carries a considerable degree of responsibility. Among other things, we determine the fixtures for all 612 matches in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 seasons and arrange the promotion/relegation play-offs as well as the German Supercup. The DFL markets the national and global media rights to Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 matches in the interests of the 36 professional clubs and produces all of the matches for live broadcast by media partners. As part of the licensing remit, we examine the standards which clubs are required to meet in order to play in Germany’s top two tiers. We also systematically invest in innovation to shape the future of football and promote new (technological) advances, among other things in broadcasting and data analytics and an even wider range of areas. The DFL is also partner of the “SportsInnovation” trade fair, the technology and industry platform for high-performance sports. The DFL Group includes the specialist subsidiaries Bundesliga International, DFL Digital Sports, Sportcast and Liga Travel as well as Sportec Solutions, a joint venture of the DFL and majority owner Deltatre. Meanwhile, the DFL Foundation is considered to be the umbrella organisation for social engagement on the part of the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 clubs.
