The Power and Gas Division offers a broad spectrum of products and solutions for environmentally- compatible and resource-saving power generation, using fossil or renewable fuels for efficient energy production and the reliable transport of oil and gas. Customers are utilities, independent power producers, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPCs) companies and industrial customers e.g. the oil and gas industry

Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

  • You will work within the Digital Engineering group across several locations (Berlin, Germany; Orlando, FL and Pune, India) to develop commercial software applications
  • You will be leading the database development for AWS based big data databases
  • Furthermore, you will take care of the development and maintenance of application components within our digitization software portfolio
  • You will ensure the effective communication with all stakeholders as well as customers
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for distinct problem solving capabilities with short term solutions as well as directing towards a long-term vision
  • You will introduce new technologies to others in the organization to promote a culture of innovation
  • You will be responsible for driving project targets, R&D efforts, security and testing requirements

Your qualifications – solid and appropriate

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in applied computer science or similar studies
  • You have several years (at least 5) of experience in database architecture and database development; proficient in big data environments
  • You have deep knowledge on data architecture, logical and physical database models
  • Furthermore, you have knowledge on performance monitoring, configuration as well as diagnostic tools
  • You are experienced with AWS technologies, such as S3, EC2, Redshift, RDS, Athena / Spectrum, VPC configurations and have proven expertise in regards to high availability and scalability systems
  • Additional AWS knowledge about parallel computing, data distribution and dealing with very large data sets as about 100 TB is important
  • You are an expert in database technologies as well as data warehouses incl. modeling and (schema)design
  • Data loading mechanisms (ETL tools such as Informatica or Talend) and Business Intelligence solutions are well known to you
