Tasks & responsibilities

  • In your new role you work on different data sources with medical content and on projects with the purpose of solving strategic business cases. You utilize data and a scientific problem-solving approach including methods from e.g. computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning and data mining.
  • Through the use of statistical and algorithmic methods as well as data visualization techniques, you build ontologies, computational models, discovering insights and identifying opportunities.
  • You organize information by studying, analyzing, interpreting and classifying data.
  • Together with your experienced team and certain stakeholders in Medicine all over the world, you turn data into critical information and knowledge.
  • Moreover, you monitor research and literature in various sciences and work in contact with academia to discover innovative methods in information/data sciences. 


  • University degree (MSc/PhD) in life sciences, e.g. biology, biochemistry, medicine, computational biology or a similar scientific area
  • Additional degree in data science, computer science, biostatistics or information science with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of information or library science
  • A background in the pharmaceutical industry of at least two years with substantial know-how in clinical research, regulatory affairs and pharmacovigilance; exposure to real world healthcare data preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant methods and skills like machine learning, data visualization and artificial intelligence
  • Experience in managing small to medium sized projects with multi-national teams
  • Strong communication skills in English and German
  • Open to travel nationally and internationally (max. 10%)
