Find and fight image theft. In the last years, we’ve built the most popular software service for finding and fighting image theft online. We’re looking for someone to help bring us to the next level and ensure our customers have the best possible experience using Pixsy. We’ve helped 30,000+ photographers in 72+ countries uncover over 200 million uses of their photos online. Each day we monitor over 25 million images for online matches.

PIXSY is looking for a Data Scientist to join our product/engineering team for specific projects in building technologies to help fight image theft and simplify legal processes.

YOUR ROLE

  • As a Data Scientist, you have the opportunity to have a major impact on our data landscape and help us leverage the latest technologies to create an efficient data-driven LegalTech product
  • Design scalable, performant algorithms to shape better and more intelligent user experiences
  • Understand our data sources, their potential and limits for specific business and customer relevant questions
  • Apply your knowledge in Python or R to build and evaluate predictive models serving as a basis for product and business decisions
  • Quickly build new (product) prototypes to evaluate your ideas and data insights with our customers by applying creative approaches
  • Push integration of your work into our JavaScript dominated web stacks and microservices
  • Topics you may be working on: success scoring, predictive pricing, search ranking, image processing, legal case prediction, recommendations and personalization

REQUIREMENTS

  • Student or graduate in MSc or PhD program in a quantitative field (computer science, mathematics, physics etc.)
  • You have 2+ years experience with modelling real-world data using statistics and machine learning
  • Practical experience in applying your in-depth subject matter knowledge of stochastics, machine learning and data mining for creating insights into real-world data sets
  • Ideally you would have some experience with scaling your own data models to production and building/maintaining pipelines
  • Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MongoDB) databases
  • Understanding of how web analytics work
  • Fluency in at least one scripting language, preferably Python
  • Curious about LegalTech, new AI technologies and dare to try, fail and improve quickly
  • Bonus points: experience in contributing to projects at kaggle.com (or similar track record)
