Job Description

What you will be doing:

    • Create, maintain, facilitate and coordinate Master Data such as Article, Bill of Material, Configuration class in a highly complex environment of SAP configuration data model.

    • The work will be either part of the Product Development & Launch or life cycle maintenance of our standard product offering or part of the special product offering.

    • You will need to be able to communicate effectively with many different departments like Manufacture Engineering, Research and Development, Sourcing, Purchase or Marketing.

    • To be successful in this role, having effective problem-solving skills in a complex environment is a great catalyst. You should have a strong capacity for learning, be self-driven and have a focus on data quality.

    • The candidate must also have a balance of technical skills to help with technological enhancements and soft skills to assist with implementation in that endeavor.

    • Work with Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and other departments to understand the PDM needs related to new product launches

    • Analyze, designs, models, develops, tests, & implements product data in support of business initiatives

  • Recognize business needs and proactively proposes new perspectives about data management

  • Handle bigger initiatives like projects and as such defines project scope, requirements and timetables

  • Focus on continuous improvement and root cause analysis

  • Create and maintain a big volume of data within a complex and abstract scope.

  • Meet goals in terms of timing and quality

Who you are:

  • Have a good industrial knowledge, understand standard manufacturing processes such as welding, bending, painting, etc.
  • Proficiency in the use of SAP, Excel, Access, and various Mass Loading Tools for Data Loading.
  • Ability to analyze, conceptualize, and logically organize database information with a high degree of precision and accuracy.
  • Comprehensive understanding of SAP Variant Configuration methods and techniques as employed in our SAP client, including the ability to develop rules containing executable code.
  • Ability to work in an autonomous way while complying with the PDM group / department goals. Share difficulties, alert manager if needed.
  • The ability to read and understand various technical documentation (such as Statement Of Line, Engineering documents) and to make recommendations of their application as it relates to data and processes.
  • Ability to communicate with a wide variety of internal and external groups, including management


  • Minimum Education: High School diploma.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Rigorous, structured mindset

  • Teamwork

  • A good understanding of the Microsoft tools is key (esp. Excel)

  • A SAP VC (Variant Configuration) acquired knowledge would be a big plus; but any variant config. experience is valued similarly

  • English is a must; French or German is a plus

  • Three to Five years of prior work experience with our clients’ products and systems is a plus.

  • Experience in an industrial environment is appreciated
