Purpose of the role

We are looking for a student analyst or an intern to join our established energy analysis team in Karlsruhe (Germany).

You will help us shaping our long-term power market analytics and develop foresight in fundamental developments of European power markets.

As a student at ICIS, you will work very independently, develop your own ideas and will contribute significantly to our products. To do so, you will work together with our experienced analyst team to receive support and to have challenging discussions about your project and analysis.

We offer our students a high degree of flexibility related to your university schedule – you can organise your working hours independently.

Key accountabilities

  • Researching biomass generation potential in Europe to 2050 and interconnecting with our assumptions to 2030
  • Researching electrification of heating/sector-coupling to 2050
  • Researching other questions related to the long-term developments of electricity markets
  • Maintenance and enhancement of long-term analytics web platform
  • Support the analyst team in the day-to-day business

Skills and behaviours

  • Ability to research, organize and derive conclusions from large and complex information
  • Interest in and familiarity with energy and climate markets and basic understanding of energy politics
  • Good Excel skills
  • SQL skills and basic HTML understanding are a strong advantage
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills in English
