Job Description

For Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH at our site in Goettingen, Germany, we are seeking for a Data Scientist (m|f|d) Membrane Technologies. In this role you are responsible for the analysis of process data, process optimization, data modelling using advanced data analytics methods (AI, Multivariate) in the area of Product Development.

What you will accomplish together with us

  • You work with stakeholders throughout the Product Development to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive membrane development solutions

  • Mine and analyze process data to drive optimization and improvement of product development is also part of your role

  • You assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and data gathering techniques

  • You support design of experiments, test hypotheses, and model building

  • You use predictive modeling to increase and optimize operational and product development experience

  • The interaction with different development teams to implement models and monitor outcomes should bring you joy

  • You develop new tools and methods to optimize model performance and data accuracy


What will convince us

  • You have a Master's degree or PhD in informatics, mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry or related field

  • Work experience in the process, pharmaceutical, bio or chemical industry is desirable

  • Excellent knowledge of machine learning (AI), data mining and multivariate data analysis methods

  • Experience in analyzing large datasets using (relational/SQL or non-SQL) databases is a plus

  • Good knowledge of process historians is welcome

  • Good programming skills (Python preferred or Matlab, R, C/C++

  • Ability to quickly understand new concepts and to come out with original solutions to complex data related problems

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
