We are seeking an experienced Director Software Engineering Cloud. In this role, you will work continuously on innovative products across their whole development cycle, from the first conceptual studies, over prototype development to the final product release and maintenance phase.

You have:

Technical Skills:

• Strong Experience in cutting-edge web-based and cloud technologies
• Strong Experience in software architecture and design with a focus on cloud-based and distributed systems
• Proven track record of developing, deploying and operating enterprise-level cloud-based solutions
• Experience in security and compliance for SaaS systems

Soft-Skills:

• Proven track record of leading distributed agile teams
• Proven record in change management, process definition and process optimization
• Strong experience in project management of cross-department projects
• Strong experience working with external partners
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to different audiences.
• High proficiency in spoken and written English
• Result driven nature with strong can-do attitude - Being independent, persistent and resilient.

Bonus-points:

• Degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field is a plus.
• Experience with applying DevOps principles
• Experience with the some of the following technologies: Javascript, Java, ASP.Net, Python, C#, C++, node.js, Angular, vue.js, SQL/NoSQL, docker, kubernets, terraform, security protocols and encryption standards
• German, Portuguese or French language skills are a plus

• Define, design and build FARO’s SaaS offerings and cloud-based solutions together with strong teams in Europe and overseas
• Responsible and accountable for software architecture, design, security and platform decisions
• Lead and mentor your teams of software engineers
• Responsible and accountable for development process setup, development standards and code quality standards
• Support migration of existing software components to cloud-based systems
• Willingness to travel 20%+
