The Global Engineering Services division is responsible for the worldwide implementation of BASF's plant construction projects. We advise and support the divisions with expert services such as automation, process and mechanical engineering throughout the entire life cycle of the plants. In this way, we drive innovation in all areas of the chemical industry - we turn laboratory developments into world-scale production plants.
Our Digitalization & IT unit controls and supports the use of engineering software in the BASF Group.
They coordinate IT topics for technical requirements and applications in the area of Technical Expertise, including E&I, apparatus and materials engineering, mechanical engineering and workshops.
Key areas include the infrastructure for operating data information systems, connection of remote expert solutions, IT systems for the reliability center and data exchange between network segments.
They supervise both the phase-in and phase-out of the various IT systems and applications.
Your responsibilities include the interface between the colleagues from the respective specialist units and the central IT department. You represent the requirements and interests of Technical Expertise to the IS community.
During investment projects, system modifications and in the operating phase, you will ensure that requirements, services and IT performance are provided reliably and in line with requirements, even in technical applications.
In the medium term, you will improve the work processes in your environment.
Successfully completed Bachelor's degree in engineering technology, computer science, mathematics or physics
Possess competence in assessing processes and IT in the field of technical expertise and have knowledge of the relevant IT market and the companies active in these areas
Active implementation of the work, precise communication between colleagues and different disciplines and determination to achieve common goals
Good networking in the IS community and know both the BASF IT processes and the main contact persons
