Software Engineer - Python/Scala (m/f/d)

We're looking for a motivated and driven Backend Engineer - Scala to join our Connected Vehicle team.

This team works closely with Traffic Control, Customer Care, FlixTrain and Offline Product to automate communications with drivers and customers throughout any given Flix journey. It's a new team, formed last year, who's been developing the first iterations of the Connected Vehicle product. Currently we're working with Scala, Play and Akka Http frameworks, REST and GraphQL API, AWS, PostgreSQL and Kafka and Kafka Streams.

In this team you'll have the chance to contribute to the early stages of a product with which you can grow.

Your Responsibilities – Paint the world green

• Together with the product team, you'll design solutions for the problem statements brought to you by business stakeholders
• With your team, you will fully own and develop connected vehicle features, ensuring scalability and sustainability of your product
• You'll contribute in technical discussions within the team to find the best approaches and solutions to problem statements
• You'll be joining a team working within an Agile environment and play an active in each sprint
• You'll develop your skills in line with a mastery plan and, given the appropriate setting, teach and mentor other colleagues in line with their development plans

Your Profile – Ready to hop on board

• You're proficient in one of the following languages: Scala, Java or Python (and open to learning and using the others)
  If your main proficiency is Python, knowing at least one JVM language would be required
• You collaborate well with others to solve problems and enjoy working in an agile setting
• You're a good communicator, able to express yourself with technical and non technical people alike
• Experience with scalable distributed systems, streaming data, event-based architecture or/and microservices
• Experience with designing and developing RESTful APIs, event-driven APIs and microservices

• Plus: You have experience with React
• Plus: Infrastructure and SRE experience
