RESPONSIBILITIES
Join the Data Science community within BASF for a period of 9-24 months and shape the future of digitalization in Research and Development. As a working student in Data Science for Materials Science and related industrial research, you will work with innovative methods on real-world data from applications in polymer synthesis, formulation and application testing.
- You evaluate and implement state-of-the-art methods for predictive modelling.
- Furthermore, you integrate these methods into sustainable machine learning pipelines.
- You support the development of new innovative products by statistical optimization of the product properties.
- Within the project, you will document the analyses using Markdown/Jupyter Notebook.
- You integrate heterogenous data from different sources and evaluate data quality.
- Moreover, you will work in close collaboration with an international and interdisciplinary team.
QUALIFICATIONS
- studying statistics, applied mathematics, informatics, computer science or a related technical field
- experience in R as the primary programming language, experience in Python is beneficial
- knowledge in the usage of relevant R packages such as glmnet, caret, lme4
- experience in software development (working with git) is an advantage
- team spirit, commitment, motivation to learn and to share your knowledge
