Job Description

Infineon has a large in-house tool platform for System Engineering tools and methodologies. The platform development team creates tool profiles and methodology concepts which are then distributed to company internal customers and this is where we need you. You will be part of the support team for this platform which means being a part of the platform development team, having close contact with their customers, gaining deep technical knowledge of the related fields and strengthening the marketing strategy for the platform. This is exactly the right job for someone who likes working on many projects simultaneously, has the drive to find root causes of technical issues and has the passion to find efficient and sustainable solutions to the issues. Since we are well embedded in the platform development team, the job doesn't include any hotline and shift work.
These will be your fields of expertise within our System Engineering Platform:
a) FPGA based Analog-Mixed-Signal Virtual and Hardware Prototyping
b) Spice-based Analog Simulation for System Engineering
c) Lab-Automation Services for Post-Silicon Validation

In your new role you will:

  • Be the first contact for users with respect to our System Engineering tool platform
  • Set up projects, answer questions concerning the software environment and provide support for tool platform customers
  • Act as a roll-out agent for tool platform topics, e.g. provide trainings
  • Maintain and improve the platform documentation landscape
  • Foster a healthy and strong relationship to the tool platform development team
  • Observe common pitfalls and elaborate ideas for improvement with platform customers and provide feedback to the development team
  • Gain basic knowledge of the platform’s software infrastructure and be able to promote the tool platform to current and potential internal customers

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
  • First working experience in the semiconductor industry as a development engineer e.g. during your student time or in a first job assignment
  • Good programming skills in Python
  • Basic experience in Hardware design topics (e.g. FPGA Prototyping)
  • Basic knowledge of design languages such as VHDL or (System) Verilog
  • Experience in the version control system Git
  • First expertise in Unix/Linux und in a Compute Farm environment
  • Supportive mindset to help internal customers with technical problems
  • Interest in acting as a detective with the goal to find (and prevent) technical issues
  • Eager to learn new topics and share knowledge proactively within your international and diverse team
  • Fluent English skills and German skills is a strong plus
