Purpose of Position
Data sit at the heart of the company. This role is to ensure that Awin is able to leverage the data it has access to across the group and build out reporting to ensure we are able to make better commercial decisions and provide best-in-class campaign management to support client facing departments.
As a Junior data engineer, your responsibility is to collect data from different sources, sanitizing, cleansing, transforming and consolidating these data to make them available for further analysis and/or publish them as a report.
You understand data, business and technical requirements. You write clean and high-quality code, easy to understand and maintain. You clearly understand the various methodologies of data extraction, transformation and storage and successfully apply your experience and knowledge of programming, scripting, SQL, and conceptual OLTP and/or OLAP database.
Within the role, you will be responsible for running Awin's data warehouse and engineering operations smoothly on a day to day basis. As a member of Data Services department you will be working with a global team of data engineers and data analysts amongst other big data engineers within the organization.

Write clean, elegant and maintainable code with data warehousing best practices and modelling techniques (Kimball, Star Schema etc.)
Troubleshoot data transformation error by debugging and formulate plan to fix it
Create new Azure pipelines, data bricks notebook to add data points to existing and new source
Create new or add new dimension and fact to existing AAS cube
Create new reports and update existing report definition
Find new innovative way to improve performance of Azure pipeline, data bricks notebooks and python transformation function
Accountable for quality and accuracy of data and report
Skills & Expertise
Bachelor degree or higher in data science, data engineering or business intelligence, or one year of working experience with focus on data engineering / intelligence / analytics, ideally in a big data environment
Working knowledge of Azure analytics architecture (Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Data Lake storage (ADLS), Azure Databricks, PowerBI and Azure logic apps
Knowledge of databases, ideally MSSQL and MYSQL; knowledge of Cloud Services DevOps (Azure and AWS) and BI/Data Analysis technologies are preferred but not essential
Proven analysis skills
Strong team player and comfortable working with distributed teams
Strong communication and interaction skills, with a customer-focused service attitude
Proactive approach to tasks & challenges with a get-things done mentality
Able to manage their own time constructively
Understanding of project & process management competences
Pronounced focus on quality and delivering results
Open-mindedness and willingness to learn and/or start initiatives
