FCAS – Shaping the future European Air Power
FCAS has the potential to become a future key pillar to secure the sovereignty of Europe, strategically, technologically, and industrially! With Spain joining the Franco-German cooperation, the programme took an important step towards its Europeanization. As FCAS is much more than “just” a new Fighter, but an integrated & combined system-of-system including existing and future platforms and tools, the programme will integrate a wide range of the Airbus DS portfolio and competencies.

Contribution to the conceptual / preliminary design and System Engineering of Mission Systems related architectures for manned and unmanned FCAS assets, specifically performing the following tasks:
Contribution to the identification, description and evaluation of respective customer requirements
Execution of the design, development and evaluation of System elements or Sub-System concepts for simulation or prototyping
Execution of trade off analysis and support to system concept assessment
Contribution to the performance of software based system modelling and characterization applying MBSE methodology
Generation of software codes representing system functions or behavior for system capability modelling
Contribution to the preparation and performance of setting up simulations and demonstrations
Contribution to the documentation and presentation of work progress and results in front of internal and external customers
Skills and Knowledge:
Engineering Master degree in Information Technology, Computing or Electronics
More than two years experience in avionics or mission systems engineering
Good programming skills in C, C++, Python, JAVA including compiling and scripting on LINUX based operating systems
Initial experiences in software development tools and processes
Initial experiences in applying Model Based System Engineering tools, processes and framework
Initial experiences applying agile methodology in engineering activities
Basic knowledge in the area of autonomous mission planning and execution
Basic knowledge in mobile communication and network systems
Basic knowledge in data base programs, e.g. DOORS
Initial understanding about mission system architectures and elements
First experience in requirements generation and validation
Experience in Microsoft Office, Windows and Linux applications
Highly motivated, autonomously and flexible working on different topics, open minded for daily challenges and innovations
