We are looking for self-motivated and result-oriented developer of AI software and applications to join the team of Translational Research Lab at Carl Zeiss Meditec AG in Munich. In this role you will get involved in development and deployment of different state-of-the-art products, based on artificial intelligence running on cloud, from different departments of ZEISS (ophthalmology and microsurgery). You will also have a key role in establishing the process and implementing the framework for deployment and operation of AI-based medical software on cloud.

Your role:

  • Establishing the standard practice for development and deployment of AI Software as Medical Device (SaMD) products
  • Developing AI algorithms for advanced projects of the Translational Research Lab
  • Testing performance and stability of AI-algorithms
  • Reviewing patents and literature and generating them
  • Close interaction with different teams and functions across different locations
  • Besides a deep understanding of AI/ML technologies and associated data handling, you will quickly derive a good understanding of the (clinical) applications that will be supported through AI/ML and the associated regulatory environment

Your profile:

  • PhD in machine learning, data science, computer vision, informatic or related fields
  • 3-5 years of experience working as data scientist with deep knowledge of machine learning and deep learning.
  • Good knowledge of statistical analysis and statistical pattern recognition.
  • Established programming skills – including good knowledge of cloud-based software applications
  • Preferably, experience in software development for medical applications (including interface to regulatory)
  • Business fluent English
  • Ability to collaborate productively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Experience with databases and big data analysis
