Job Description

We are looking for an intern/working student analyst to join our established carbon analysis team in Karlsruhe (Germany). Ideally, starting with a full time 3-6 month internship followed by a part-time working student contract.

During your time with us, you will help us shaping our European carbon market analytics and develop insight into the European climate policy and the functioning of the EU Emission Trading System (EU ETS). As a student at ICIS, you will work very independently, develop your own ideas and will contribute significantly to our products. To do so, you will work together with our experienced analyst team to receive support and to have challenging discussions about your projects and analysis. We offer our students a high degree of flexibility related to your university schedule – you can organise your working hours independently.

Main responsibilities

  • Research on state-of-art industry abatement technologies such as green hydrogen production, Carbon Capture Storage (CCS) and Carbon Utilization (CU)

  • Track the on-going emissions abatement projects in industry sectors in Europe to understand the status quo

  • Extension of the feature selection of our neuronal networks

  • Develop and implement analytics and data visualization tools on our carbon analytics platform

  • Support analysts on key projects with data handling and programming

Key skills

  • Ability to understand complex topics quickly

  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects

  • Comfortable handling and visualizing large data sets

  • Experience in a programming language like Java, Python, C++ is essential - SQL and Python skills are an advantage

  • Strong communication and writing skills in English are required
