We are looking for a research software engineer with experience in open source scientific computing or bioinformatics to join the research group of Wolfgang Huber at EMBL in Heidelberg. You will enhance and improve scientific software packages for modern biological research, including single cell RNA-seq and multi-omics data analysis, for spatial omics, and for integrative multi-modal machine learning on large datasets. To this end, you will use state-of-the-art backend libraries, scientific computing environments, containerization and cloudification tools, and latest developments in AI (eg, LLMs).
