The Institute for Mathematics in the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Heidelberg University invites applications for a
Full Professorship (W3) in “Mathematical Statistics” (f/m/d)
to be filled as of April 1, 2026.
The research focus of the successful candidate should complement the existing research groups at the Institute for Mathematics in the area of Mathematical Statistics. We are seeking a mathematician with an excellent research profile in modern developments of Mathematical Statistics, for example in high-dimensional or nonparametric statistics, Bayesian statistics or causal inference. An engagement with the applied sciences at Heidelberg University is desirable.
An excellent research record, as evidenced by publications, is expected. In addition, participation in academic self-governance and teaching is required, particularly in the planned Masters program “Mathematics of Machine Learning and Data Science”, as well...
