The Thünen Institute is the Federal Research Institute for Rural Areas, Forests and Fisheries. Our research aims at developing concepts for a sustainable, ecological and competitive agriculture, food production, forestry, marine fishery and aquaculture. Our almost 1200 employees do research for policy making and the society in 15 specialized institutes spread across Northern Germany.
