Fairness and transparency: This is what the Central Packaging Register (ZSVR), headquartered in Osnabrück, stands for. Since the Packaging Act came into force, we as an authority have been ensuring greater control and competitiveness in packaging recycling. Our goal is to reduce the impact of packaging waste on the environment and ensure the financing of packaging recycling. Packaging is a sustainable resource: recycling cycles can only take place within a financially healthy market. To make product responsibility visible, we maintain the digital packaging register LUCID, in which all legally obligated companies from industry and trade must register. We also compare packaging quantities from manufacturers and systems and publish standards with which we make recycling-friendly packaging design measurable. In addition to ensuring a fair distribution of costs in the packaging disposal market, we create transparency and fair competition among all parties involved. As a young, agile authority, we strive to make our digital processes legally compliant for all those subject to the obligation, yet as simple as possible.
