The roots of today's Versicherungskammer Bayern group go back to the year 1811. The then Bayerische Landesbrandversicherungsanstalt was handed over to a central state authority in 1875 by decree of King Ludwig II of Bavaria. The Royal Law justified the establishment of the "Royal Chamber of Fire Insurance".
