This allows our people to take responsibility and make optimal use of their skills. Together, we want to shape the future of energy. What we are looking for What you’ll do You’ll work as part of an international medium-sized team, located between Nottingham (UK) and Dusseldorf (Germany).  Working closely with both clients and technical delivery teams, you’ll help develop our software and data-driven products in existing and new markets.  This combination of software engineering, data analytics and modelling will support the energy sector through applications spanning the design of new renewable generation assets, operational support and maintenance of existing assets, and modelling and optimisation of trading activities and demand-side management.  Building solutions through our class-leading data lake and application platform – utilising modern, big data technologies and a microservice-based approach – project opportunities range widely from developing complex algorithmic logic coupled with attractive web applications, to connected data and immersive visual solutions using Microsoft HoloLens. With technology and energy being fast-evolving fields, you will receive invaluable technical and non-technical development opportunities, through on-the-job experience, external training and peer support and mentoring. You’ll have a lot of responsibility and you will be able to directly manage the implementation of your ideas and work.  There will also be the chance to collaborate with other parts of the company (for example, Condition Monitoring, Mechanical Engineering, and Trading) in addition to placements across Uniper.  You are expected to do one international and one domestic placement within the company with an area of your choice. Each placement is generally 3-5 months in duration. The placements are an excellent opportunity to get to know other aspects of the industry and gain experience in a different field, i.e. a different type of engineering or commercial experience, and are organised by you to give you the flexibility to do a placement in an area that interests you.
