Risk Research was founded in 2002 under the name "Risk Research Prof. Hamerle GmbH & Co. KG" by Prof. Dr. Alfred Hamerle as a spin-off from the University of Regensburg. In 2016 the company was founded by Dr. Michael Knapp, who significantly steered the development of the company, and continued under the name "Risk Research GmbH". The aim of linking current research results with practical requirements met with a great response and enabled the company to establish itself quickly.
