We are looking for a full-time (40 hours) DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) for our Berlin location in a hybrid setup , with the earliest possible start date. The position is initially limited to 2 years, with the option to extend , and starts as soon as possible.
You will join ZDF Sparks during an exciting growth phase and work on client projects related to media planning, communication, distribution, content creation and personalization .

You develop, maintain and optimize CI/CD processes (especially GitLab CI ) for machine learning systems in the cloud.

You create tools and processes for monitoring, logging , and analyzing the performance of deployed AI solutions.

You implement infrastructure in mixed cloud environments (primarily GCP , additionally AWS and/or Azure ) using microservices , containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, Terragrunt and OpenTofu .

You optimize and automate the scaling of infrastructure with the latest cloud technologies.

You work with cross-functional teams to identify and implement MLOps/DevOps requirements .

You build and maintain test and production environments in cloud platforms for the deployment of AI products.

It uses cloud-native design patterns , infrastructure best practices, and network concepts to ensure scalable and secure deployments .

You bring with you…

a strong DevOps background ; MLOps experience is a plus.
-
A very good understanding of software engineering best practices , including modularity, maintainability, and SDLC processes; knowledge of principles such as DRY and cloud-native design patterns is highly desirable.

Practical experience with cloud infrastructures (especially GCP ), CI/CD pipelines , containers , Terraform , and applications using CUDA/GPU/TPU . Experience with AWS , Azure , Terragrunt , OpenTofu , and Kubernetes is a plus.

Excellent knowledge of Python, SQL, TensorFlow, and PyTorch . Knowledge of JavaScript and Go is advantageous. Experience with cloud migrations is a further plus.

Strong stakeholder management across customers and functions.

Excellent documentation and communication skills to make technical concepts understandable even for non-technical target groups .

Team spirit, enthusiasm for AI and continuous learning .

Fluent German and English skills.
