A core element of the SIGNAL IDUNA Group's IT strategy is the use of new and modern software development concepts, particularly those involving faster implementation, continuous feature enhancement, and microservices. A key foundation for this is investment in the development workstations for the approximately 700 IT employees, ensuring they are efficient and compliant with regulations.
Within our dynamic Development Services team, we take care of the core tools our development teams need for efficient software development and Infrastructure as Code. Currently, development takes place on Linux VMs, MacBooks, and Windows desktops. In addition to maintaining and supporting existing solutions, a key task is to reimagine the development workspace as a service.
Your area of ​​responsibility
  • Development and support of standardized development workstations
  • Technical and professional product responsibility for approximately 20 development tools (IntelliJ IDE, Visual Studio Code, Docker Desktop, Gradle, Maven, Backstage, PyCharm, SDKMAN)
  • Continuous development of development workstations (e.g. cloud and AI support)
  • Distribution of the software to development workstations (packaging)
  • Support and advice for developers regarding the use of the workstations

  • You have a university degree in computer science or mathematics, or comparable training with relevant experience in the DevOps field.
  • You are proficient in using automation tools (especially Terraform and Ansible) as well as Unix (e.g., Bash) scripting.
  • Has experience with cloud technologies, preferably Google Cloud Workstations and Terraform
  • You have strong communication, consulting, and coaching skills.
  • possesses in-depth knowledge of client/server and web technologies.
  • You have good knowledge of IT methods such as Scrum, Kanban, Software Engineering, DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • You also bring knowledge of agile software development (Java / Angular).
