We are an established e-commerce and teleshopping company with around 140 employees. Our data-driven management of our webshop, broadcast operations, and reporting is based on an existing data warehouse with productive pipelines – and that's exactly where you come in.
To expand our team in Berlin in the long term, we are looking for someone to join us as soon as possible.
Your tasks
- Strategic expansion of our data platform
- Operation, maintenance and modernization of our data warehouse (PostgreSQL, BigQuery)
- Further development and monitoring of our ETL/ELT pipelines (Airflow / Cloud Composer, dbt, dlt)
- Integration of external data sources via REST APIs
- Data modeling for analytics and reporting use cases
- Data cleansing and preparation
- Performance optimization of SQL queries and data processes
- Conducting ad-hoc analyses for specialist departments
- Close collaboration with stakeholders from e-commerce, broadcasting, marketing and management
- Support for data-driven use cases (reporting, webshop optimization, ML-supported analyses)
- Technical involvement in shaping the cloud strategy (on-premise, Google Cloud, partly AWS)
Your profile
- Several years of practical experience in data engineering
- Excellent knowledge of Python and SQL
- Experience with PostgreSQL and BigQuery
- Solid knowledge of airflow
- Experience with DBT and modern ELT architectures
- Solid understanding of data modeling (e.g., star schema, analytical models)
- Experience with REST APIs
- Ideally, some initial experience with machine learning (e.g., transformer models or analytics-related ML use cases)
- Independent, structured work style with a high degree of ownership
- Ability to communicate technical issues in an understandable way
- German and English, at least one language at C1 level.
