The Location Data & Analytics team at Infas 360, an Ipsos company, develops standardized and integrated geo-, property, and market data products and delivers customized analyses for our clients. Companies, institutions, and government agencies use our comprehensive and reliable data products for critical decisions in marketing, sales, logistics, construction and environmental planning, and many other areas.
To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Lead Data Engineer (m/f/d) to join us full-time in Bonn as soon as possible.

Your role with us

  • You will design a sustainable data architecture and implement a high-performance and stable data infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform to scale our data operations.
  • You are migrating the current on-premise solution based on PostgreSQL to a cloud solution based on BigQuery.
  • You design, implement, and optimize data pipelines for handling a variety of structured and unstructured data sources.
  • You ensure data availability and quality by applying best practices in data modeling and data management.
  • You will develop automated DataOps solutions to ensure data integrity and transparency, including monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • You will configure, implement, and manage Airflow for workflow orchestration and DataKitchen for the implementation of tests and alerts.
  • You use your expertise in Spatial SQL for processing and analyzing geo-, factual and market data.
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop data products tailored to business needs.

What you bring

  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of working with databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, OGC SQL/PostGIS, BigQuery) and scaling data platforms.
  • You have experience working with ETL/ELT processes and data integration tools.
  • You have extensive experience in Python development and are proficient in libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, PySpark, Pandera or pytest.
  • You have practical experience with cloud platform services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for deploying and managing data solutions – ideally with the Google Cloud Platform.
  • You have practical experience with automation and workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow and dbt, as well as with data quality testing and data observability tools such as DataKitchen.
  • You have practical experience with VCS and CI/CD, e.g. with Git, GitLab or GitHub.
  • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
  • You enjoy working in a team, actively shaping topics, and don't wait to be given tasks.
  • You possess excellent problem-solving skills and can work in a collaborative, agile environment.
  • Ideally, you have project experience with geodata and geographic information systems.
  • You speak fluent German (C1) and English.
