10178 Berlin • Hybrid working

Range of tasks

In this role, you will be responsible for the operations (Ops) of a highly strategic platform in an enterprise environment. The project operates at the intersection of traditional public cloud (AWS) and the extremely stringent security requirements of a sovereign cloud (EU) .
The setup is state-of-the-art, and the codebase is massive. A large part of your work will involve understanding existing code, optimizing the system landscape, and accurately reporting bugs to the development teams, rather than painstakingly patching them yourself. If you are fascinated by an extremely broad tool stack and enjoy working with cutting-edge AI assistants like Claude, this position is an excellent opportunity.

Your tasks (day-to-day work)

  • Holistic operation: You are responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and continuous optimization of a complex system landscape.
  • Code analysis instead of assembly-line coding: Your primary focus is on reading, understanding, and debugging code. You document any bugs you find and report them directly to the responsible engineering teams.
  • International collaboration: You will work closely with engineering teams across different time zones.
The technology stack

and tooling are so diverse that they never get boring.
  • Infrastructure & Cloud: Own client-servers, AWS (Sovereign EU) and OpenStack.
  • Deployment & Orchestration: Heavy user of ArgoCD, GitLab, Terraform and Ansible.
  • Security: HashiCorp Vault.
  • Legacy systems: Support of existing pipelines (e.g., Concourse).
  • Proprietary software: Use of customer-specific solutions (training takes place directly on the job).

Experiences

This is what you bring to the table.

Essential knockout criteria:

  • Security clearance: The willingness and prerequisites for an extended security clearance (SÜ2) must be met.
  • Language skills: Fluent German and English language skills (fluent in both spoken and written form) for safe communication in national and international contexts.
Must-have-Skills:
  • Deep Dive Expertise: Sound technical knowledge in GitLab and Linux / SUSE .
  • Automation & Infrastructure as Code: Confident handling of Terraform & Ansible as well as sound experience in the field of CI/CD .
  • Tech stack flexibility: Experience with at least some of the following tools: Kubernetes, Helm, Python or Bash scripting.
  • Cloud understanding: Solid knowledge of hyperscaler services (AWS, GCP, Azure, OpenStack) regarding cloud computing and databases.
  • Analytical thinking: Excellent skills in debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work shifts and be on call 24/7 .
Nice-to-have-Skills:
  • Practical experience with HashiCorp Vault, ArgoCD and GitOps approaches.
  • Experience with the setup or support of multi-tenant solutions .
