We are DekaBank – the securities house of the German savings banks and one of the largest fund providers in Germany. We develop first-class products and are close to our customers. With customized investment solutions, we support the savings banks in their advisory services. We are developing new offerings for digital securities trading. Are you ready? Let's shape the financial world of the future together! What do we offer? A modern working environment. We foster team spirit as well as individual development opportunities for personal career advancement. Because all our employees contribute their creativity, passion, personality, and expertise – and that's what makes us who we are.
Shape the future of the securities business with us!
As part of the further development of our sales management department in savings bank sales, we are looking for you – a committed individual who will work with us to drive the development of a modern and effective data governance system.
Your mission:
Become part of an interdisciplinary team that is creating the foundation for innovative reporting and user-centric analytics using a new, cloud-based data platform (Microsoft Azure). Together, we will focus on managing the entire securities business and set new standards in data quality and transparency.
You can expect:
  • Data Governance Framework: You will develop a data governance framework as the foundation for data-driven decisions. This involves defining guidelines, standards, and processes to ensure consistent, secure, and high-quality data usage in sales. Your goal: a sustainable data strategy that creates added value for everyone.
  • Consulting and collaboration: As a central point of contact, you will raise awareness of responsible data management and high data quality. With your expertise, you will support teams in implementing guidelines, conduct training sessions, and guide pilot projects to firmly embed data governance in our data culture.
  • Metadata management: You will create and continuously maintain a data catalog. This catalog will become the central source of information for all relevant data – from its origin and meaning to its usage. You will ensure that metadata from various sources is integrated and that the data origin remains traceable at all times to promote transparency and trust.
  • Data Quality Management: You will be responsible for data quality management, including regular quality controls, data quality reporting, and resolving data quality issues. Your goal is to ensure the highest standards so that all users have access to reliable and consistent data.
  • Central Data Management: You will support the team in maintaining and developing our sales data. You will ensure that the data is accurate, up-to-date, and tailored to the needs of the various departments. In this way, you will contribute to making our data management future-proof and efficient.
You bring:
  • You have a completed degree in a technical or business field or a comparable qualification.
  • You have several years of practical experience in data governance and data management, ideally in the banking sector.
  • You have a deep understanding of data, processes and their interactions, and are able to translate complex relationships into clear strategies.
  • Ideally, you have experience in maintaining and managing a data governance tool or data catalog such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or Informatica. Experience with database queries (e.g., SQL, Python) is advantageous but not required.
  • You have very good German skills, both spoken and written, and can communicate complex topics clearly and understandably.
What makes you stand out:
Are you a team-oriented individual who works independently and communicates proactively? Then we look forward to shaping the future of data management together with you. Your analytical skills, sense of responsibility, and flexibility make you the ideal candidate for this exciting role.
It is important to us that everyone has equal opportunities at Deka. We are convinced that the diversity of our employees and an inclusive corporate culture broaden perspectives, foster innovation and creativity, and contribute to finding the best solutions for our customers. Therefore, we promote diversity and welcome every application – regardless of gender, nationality, ethnic or social origin, religion or belief, disability, age, or sexual orientation and identity.
