Tasks - What you can expect from us

Through the systematic analysis and clear presentation of data, you will create a sound basis for transparent and effective decisions in municipal administration. Your work will thus contribute to the needs-based development of public services and measures, and to promoting social participation and evidence-based urban development. Specifically, you can expect the following tasks:

  • Surveys & Evaluation – You design and conduct surveys, scientifically analyze the collected data and prepare the results in a way that is appropriate for the target audience; you also support, among other things, the specialist procedures LimeSurvey and Beteiligung.NRW.
  • Data management – ​​You develop and maintain data models and database structures, build data interfaces, and ensure the quality and consistency of the data.
  • Data analysis – You perform complex statistical analyses, link and interpret heterogeneous data sources using scientific methods, and derive reliable insights.
  • Consulting – You advise specialist departments on data-related issues as well as on the creation and implementation of surveys, work in municipal projects and collaborations and contribute to the further development of the city's data strategy and standards.

Profile - What you bring

  • Completed university degree (Master's, Diploma) with a specific professional focus, e.g., statistics, data science, quantitative social sciences, empirical social research, market research

In addition, you should preferably bring:

  • Ability to proactively evaluate own processes and to identify and implement optimization potentials
  • A meticulous and detail-oriented work ethic, as well as the ability to develop viable solutions.
  • Creativity in developing new solutions and the motivation to proactively identify and advance topics.
  • sound knowledge of statistical methods and empirical social research
  • Experience in creating dashboards and visualizations, especially with Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Python and/or R as well as knowledge of databases, data modeling and SQL.
  • Basic knowledge in the data protection and information security environment
