AI Engineer (m/f/d)

Your role:
As an AI Engineer, you are the technical backbone of our AI Lab. You develop AI applications that create real added value in the daily work of our employees, from the initial idea to the productive solution.
Your focus is on integrating existing AI services into business processes, rapidly building prototypes, and the technical implementation of use cases that are prioritized together with the Product Manager. You work closely with users and the business, quickly translating potential into working solutions.

• Completed university degree, ideally in computer science, software engineering, data science, machine learning or a comparable field.
• 3 to 6 years of experience in software development, with a clear focus on AI in the last 1 to 2 years.
• Experience in building AI applications: from requirements gathering to productive use
• Demonstrable practical projects with LLM integration, Prompt Engineering or RAG architectures
• Hands-on experience with AI APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Azure OpenAI or similar services
• Excellent knowledge of Python and a good understanding of modern API and software architectures
• Experience with prototyping, MVP development and technical implementation in short iterations
• Good German and English skills, both spoken and written.

What makes you stand out: Nice-to-haves

• Experience with fine-tuning or evaluation of LLMs
• Knowledge of Docker and basic cloud deployment setups
• Experience with RAG systems, Agentic AI workflows, or internal knowledge systems
• Knowledge of SQL and basic data access
• Experience in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or biotechnology
• Understanding of data protection and GDPR-compliant processing of company data
