Product Owner Data Engineering (m/w/d)

Do you want to design and be responsible for sophisticated software and data products in a security-critical environment?
Do you have experience in data engineering or software development and want to use it to make well-informed decisions?
Are you interested in preparing operational and weapon system data so that it can be used in the best possible way for analysis and decision-making?
You will take on the project management of data-related developments and manage their successful implementation together with our data engineering team.
Our colleagues will provide you with intensive support, especially at the beginning, as you get started with our development and data landscape.
The Defence & Security division is particularly committed to the armed forces and is a recognized technical service provider at the national and international level in the design of solutions, the support of analysis, development and implementation projects, and the provision of services.

• Assuming professional responsibility as Product Owner for data-related developments in the context of our data engineering projects.
• Coordination and professional leadership of an interdisciplinary project team, as well as undertaking selected project management tasks such as scheduling and stakeholder communication.
• Management of the development and further development of software products as well as associated ETL pipelines and data platforms
• Requirements gathering, structuring and continuous management, as well as close technical coordination with data engineers, data analysts and web developers.
• Contributing a sound technical understanding in the field of data engineering or software development in order to understand the impact of business decisions on technical concepts.
• Ensuring a high-performance, maintainable and scalable data architecture together with our experts:
• Preparation and execution of acceptance procedures at the customer's site for formal confirmation of the agreed scope of delivery and services, participation in the preparation of quotations.

• Ideally, you have completed a degree in computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
• Practical experience in data engineering or software development
• Experience in the professional management of technical developments or in responsible roles in interdisciplinary teams
• Experience in requirements management and in prioritizing different professional and technical interests.
• A solid understanding of fundamental data and software concepts, as well as basic technical understanding in Python-based environments; knowledge of tools such as Git, Docker, or Airflow is advantageous.
• Excellent German and English skills, both spoken and written.
