(Junior) Data Engineer (m/f/d)

Your challenges:

  • As a member of our central data team and in close collaboration with our data scientists, you will drive challenging data projects forward and implement technical solutions for professional challenges .
  • They are further developing the central data infrastructure of the FAZ and building a high-performance and scalable basis for machine learning models and dashboards .
  • They support us in setting up and expanding the data models , including the necessary infrastructure via CI/CD .
  • They handle the operation , monitoring , error analysis , and debugging .
  • Specifically, your responsibilities include the following tasks :
    • Setup , maintenance and optimization of ETL processes , data lakehouse and data models , as well as development of interfaces to operational systems.
    • Maintenance and operation of DevOps pipelines for automated deployments
    • Support with the migration of our data infrastructure

Your profile:

  • You have a completed degree in computer science , media or business informatics or a comparable qualification and have initial professional experience in the field of business intelligence (BI) and/or data warehouse (DWH) .
  • They bring a very good understanding of DWH/BI management as well as experience in handling and operating SQL databases , ETL processes , Microsoft Fabric and programming languages ​​( Python , Spark , SQL etc.).
  • You enjoy working in an interdisciplinary manner with other data experts in the team and appreciate working in a dynamic environment with plenty of creative freedom – your conceptual and analytical skills and your communication skills will be a great asset here.
  • Due to your hands-on mentality and your structured, organized way of working, you prefer to work in a highly implementation- and results-oriented manner .
  • They possess a quick grasp of concepts and are committed to unlocking previously untapped potential in the field of data .
