About the job

As an Analytics Engineer at Gemma, you play a critical role in helping our clients generate meaningful business value from their existing data. You transform raw information into clear, reliable insights by identifying patterns, uncovering opportunities, and enabling data-driven decision-making. By collaborating closely with clients, you help translate real-world challenges into practical, well-designed analytical solutions. During your first months, you will be supported by experienced team members to ensure a smooth onboarding and strong technical foundation.

You will work on complex, high-impact analytical problems across a diverse range of startups and SMEs, contributing directly to their ability to make informed, strategic decisions.

• As we are tooling-agnostic, you will touch multiple technologies and understand the in's & out's what is currently possible in the data landscape
• Collaborate and connect with domain experts to solve data obstacles in various industries
• Develop advanced data reporting and visualizations
• Leverage AI tools (eg, LLM-assisted analytics, AI-augmented workflows) to accelerate delivery for clients and internally
• Apply data modeling methodologies and contribute to a robust data platform for our clients

Who you are

We believe in a good mixture of experience and upside in our team. We are looking for both types of people equally. For this mid-level role, we are looking for people with initial experience, and also with curiosity, openness to learning, and a structured mindset who are enthusiastic to solve numerical riddles while keeping in mind the business context.

Besides that, we are looking for the following:

• Experience with SQL and relational databases
• Business Fluency (C2 or native) in German and English
• Good understanding of data modeling techniques (eg Data Vault or Kimball's Dimensional Modeling) and data warehousing in general
• Exposure to AI tools in a professional context (eg, using LLMs to assist with documentation, code, or analysis)
• Curiosity, a growth mindset, and comfort working in ambiguity
• Bonus:
  • Experience with one or more programming languages ​​(Python preferred)
  • Experience with one or more data visualization tools
  • Experience with managing stakeholders and/or clients
