Senior AI Engineer – Agentic AI (w/m/d)

As a Senior AI Engineer – Agentic AI, you will take end-to-end responsibility for the technical design, quality, and scalability of complex AI solutions in business-critical contexts.

You act as a link between business requirements, architectural decisions and technical implementation , and are recognized as a senior expert by clients, project managers and internal teams.

Your responsibilities

Solution Ownership & Architecture

• Overall professional responsibility for the architecture, technical consistency and delivery quality of AI and Agentic AI solutions.
• Translating complex business requirements into viable, scalable and secure AI architectures .
• Definition and enforcement of architectural, design, and quality standards within projects and programs.

Agentic‑AI‑Expertise

• Design and implementation of agent-based systems (e.g., orchestration, tool usage, decision logics, persistence strategies).
• Evaluation and selection of suitable agentic patterns, frameworks and platform services in the Azure ecosystem.
• Sicherstellung der Enterprise‑Readiness (Monitoring, Security, Governance, Maintainability).

Client Facing & Advisory Role

• Technical contact person for senior stakeholders on the client side.
• Active participation in pre-sales and shaping phases , including:
  • technical solutions
  • Effort and complexity assessments
  • Risk and dependency assessments
• Clear positioning of feasibility, limitations and alternatives .

Technical Leadership & Enablement

• Technical leadership of developer and AI teams through coaching, reviews and technical decision-making .
• Support for skills development within the Data & AI community.
• Contribution to the further development of Avanade assets, platforms and best practices .

Your profile

Experience

• Several years of experience in the architecture and implementation of complex AI solutions in enterprise environments.
• Experience in consulting-related roles with a high degree of personal responsibility and stakeholder exposure.
• Demonstrable responsibility for technical guidelines and delivery quality .

Technological competence

• In-depth experience with Azure-based AI architectures (e.g., Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Azure ML).
• Solid knowledge of LLM-based systems and agentic AI architectures .
• Starker Software‑Engineering‑Background (z. B. Python, APIs, Cloud‑native Patterns).
• Understanding of security, compliance, governance and responsible AI in an enterprise context.

• Ability to communicate technical content in a way that is appropriate for the target audience and decision-oriented .
