For KNORR-BREMSE Systeme für Nutzfahrzeuge GmbH, Werk Aldersbach, we are looking for an AI & Data Solutions Engineer (m/f/d) within the "Digital Operation" department.
Your tasks:
- Conception, development and further development of a standardized IT/OT architecture for end-to-end processes in production and logistics (including MQTT, Unified Namespace, MES systems).
- Definition, implementation and monitoring of technical standards, governance structures and operating guidelines.
- Ensuring operational safety, performance and compliance for all responsible solutions.
- Design and implementation of end-to-end data pipelines from MES, SAP, logistics or edge systems.
- Development and expansion of a data warehouse or data lake for the operations area (e.g., Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, DataVault 2.1).
- Implementation of robust mechanisms for data quality control, monitoring, and error handling.
- Standardization of data models, integration patterns and interface architectures.
- Close collaboration with IT teams and global data platform organizations.
- Conception, selection and deployment of AI models for process optimization, anomaly detection, or early detection of failures.
- Development of data agents and intelligent services to support operational processes.
- Conceptualization and execution of proof-of-concept (PoC) for new technologies and AI methods.
- Evaluation of technological trends and derivation of strategic recommendations for the organization.
- Ensuring model robustness, scalability, and compliance in production environments.
- Conception and implementation of a consistent KPI report for operations
- Development of complex dashboards and self-service analytics in Power BI.
- Supporting specialist departments in identifying use cases and translating them into technical solution designs.
- Combining lean management principles with digital methods to increase efficiency and process stability.
- Creation of technical documentation.
- Coordination of external service providers and monitoring of their technical performance.
- Participation in global initiatives (technology transfer, training, technology rollouts).
- Active communication with stakeholders at the shop floor, engineering, and management levels
Requirements:
- Completed studies in computer science, engineering or a comparable field
- Excellent knowledge of Python , MS SQL and modern software/data architectures
- Experience in data engineering (pipelines, ETL/ELT, APIs, event flows)
- Solid knowledge of machine learning , AI methods and data analytics
- Knowledge of industrial IT/OT technologies:

- Experience in building data warehouses/data platforms
- Practical experience in the development of industrial software solutions
